Book Design 'Cantaros'

Editorial design for a poetry book by Joaquin Badajoz (Cuban-American writer), an experimental collection that explores poetry, religion, philosophy, and politics from a personal perspective. With a clean and modern layout design, it was essential to emphasize the book's tone using the concept of the potter's craft—this establishes the color palette—turning clay into a 'jar,' just as the poet uses words to create poetry, creating a creative tautology. Illustrations were conceived based on a curated set of drawings from Greek amphorae, integrating deconstructive elements of the 'jar' to maintain a visually impactful theme throughout the entirety of the book.
